Dear Oakstead Families,
We’re thrilled to kick off another amazing year of reading at Oakstead Elementary! Our 2025–2026 Reading Challenges are designed to spark a love of books and celebrate our students’ reading achievements in fun and meaningful ways. This year, students can participate in monthly and semester-long challenges by logging their reading minutes in Beanstack. Top readers will earn brag tags, special privileges, and even parties! We’ll also be recognizing top-performing grades, dens, and teachers because reading is a team effort!
New this year is our SSYRA Bingo Challenge for grades 3–5! As students dive into the 15 Sunshine State Young Readers Award books, they’ll choose creative projects from a Bingo board, like designing a book cover, writing a sequel, or building a LEGO scene, to showcase their understanding and imagination. Projects scoring 9 or higher on our SSYRA rubric will count toward rewards and celebrations.
