All visitors must check-in and register in the front office before entering our campus. Visitors will always be required to show a drivers license EVERY time. A visitor badge will be given to you to wear while you are on campus; the badge should be visible at all times. All parent conferences need to be scheduled with the classroom teacher in advance.
Lunch with your child: (beginning October 2024) Parents are welcome to have lunch with their child, weather permitting. Due to our enrollment growth and safety commitment to all students, we limit our lunchtime visiting to outdoor seating only. To ensure the safety and supervision of all children, parents may only have lunch with their own children. No other children will be removed from the cafeteria. We ask that you limit your visits to once or twice a month. Lunchtime is one of the few times of the day where children can socialize with their classmates. Some students might choose to be in a snack that can be consumed quickly due to an earlier or later lunchtime (i.e., granola bar).
Cafeteria Snack & Ice Cream purchases: The cafeteria offers a variety of snack options for your child to purchase. Students may purchase snacks through the lunch line. Parents are encouraged to sign up for a lunch account online where they can add funds and limit snack purchases.

Student Attendance: Regular full-day school attendance is necessary for children to reach their fullest potential in school. When a child is SIGNED OUT EARLY or TARDY, meaningful content is missed, putting the child at a significant disadvantage. At Oakstead, we pride ourselves on providing a full day of quality instruction for our students. Every opportunity is viewed as a learning opportunity and is utilized throughout our instructional day. It is essential that children attend school regularly during our instructional hours of 9:40 AM to 3:50 PM to support their academic success and comply with Florida law.
State statute requires that “All children who have attained or will have attained the age of 6 years by February 1 of any school year and have not yet attained the age of 16 years, except as otherwise provided, are required to attend school regularly during the entire school term.” (F.S. 1003.21) Absences will be marked excused ONLY for reasons listed in the Pasco County Schools Code of Conduct. All other absences will be marked unexcused.
If your child is absent, please report it using myStudent. Please make every effort not to sign your child out early or arrive tardy. While we realize that there are unavoidable circumstances, we would appreciate it EVERY EFFORT is made to limit those occurrences. Our staff is ready to support you in having your child in school for our daily instruction.
